Y’all, motherhood is awesome. It’s also crazy hard sometimes. You bring home this new bundle of joy and you’re completely in love. Then reality hits….hel-lo, this little person needs your constant attention, time and love. It does get easier though….until teething hits.
New moms and moms-to-be….teething can hit wayyyyy sooner than you ever thought or dreamed. My little one started teething at the ripe old age of 2 months old. His first tooth popped through at 5 months old (yes, 3 months of painful teething with nothing to show for it!), and his second one is almost through and he’s 6 months old. Just because my boy got teeth that early doesn’t mean that’s what will happen with your sweet baby. But when teething hits…Mama, you’d better be prepared!
Today I want to share with you some of my FAVORITE products for handling teething discomfort for your poor baby. And moms-to-be, don’t put off getting this stuff for after baby is born…make sure you have the stuff now! It will will be here sooner than you think!
The first thing I got C was an amber necklace. NO, I don’t put it around his neck. I have lots of friends who let their babies do that, and that’s fine for them. That’s just not for me; I don’t feel comfortable with it. Amber is known fo relieving pain. People ask me if I think it really works…and I believe it does! If we forget to put it back on his ankle after his bath, he’s definitely hurting and crankier. Once I put it back on, he settles down. SUCH a blessing! And, it’s super adorable and people are always commenting on it! 🙂 I got mine from a local herb shop, but I know you can get some on amazon.
Say hello to C’s favorite things! The amazing Sara from Saraisms sent C these adorable teething rings! As the mom who cares about what goes into my son’s mouth, I appreciate that the wood is organic and so much safer than plastic!
He adores snuggling with his teething lovey as he takes a nap, or on a chilly day out and about. I love the print- it’s so fun! The fabric piece can snap off so you can wash it when it gets soiled- so perfect!
The teething toy can keep C happy for a long time. Especially when he tooth is cutting, he will just sit in his highchair, chewing on and tossing it around. 🙂 It’s super handy to keep in my diaper bag, too!
These oils are SUCH a blessing to have to help relieve teething discomfort! The above things I mentioned usually keep his fussiness and discomfort to a minimum, but on those really rough days….the big guns get brought it!
In my hand, I dilute a drop of Frankincense Vitality and a drop of Thieves Vitality with a “squirt” of V6 carrier oil and rub on his gums. He really enjoys it!
I also rub Lavender & Copaiba undiluted along his jaw line. It always helps him calm down and stop acting like he’s uncomfortable. 🙂 And ALL of these oils come in the starter kit! You can learn more about Young Living HERE or sign up under me HERE, and I will send you a free guidebook to using oils with babies!
How did you get through the “terrible teething time”? How did you help ease your baby’s teething discomfort? It always hurts my mama heart to see him uncomfortable!
Hello there Hannah! I am very happy to see your post as I have been using the same product as you mentioned here. I have used Lavender & Copaiba since my son has started his teething age 3 months ago; he’s now 9 months old and started teething at 6 months. This product is all I can say, a heaven’s sent. It was very useful and as well as affordable that anyone can afford it for their baby to use it. I am just so glad to see the same output as I am. Cheers to us! 🙂
Visiting from Conservative Christian blog group. I’ll find another post to pin, I am not comfortable sharing putting oils in baby’s mouth, and there’s no mention of age appropriate oils for under six months. Thanks for sharing!
