So, your big day has come and gone. You’ve enjoyed your honeymoon- or your time at home together as a married couple. You wait, excitedly and slightly impatiently, for the wedding photos to come in. You settle into a new routine with your husband. And finally, they come! So what do you do with them? You post them all on Facebook or Instagram, print out your favorites and frame them, and….then they sit there and do nothing.
I’ve always been a scrapbooker, but, for some reason, putting my wedding photos in a scrapbook seemed very daunting. What if I didn’t like how I did it? Should I just put it in a photo albumn with no decorations? What should I do?
After getting half-way through my pregnancy with Caleb, I decided I just had to make a scrapbook. I was going to be so busy with a newborn, who would turn into a toddler, and Lord willing, we would have more children. So, I buckled down and started it.
Because it had almost been a year since our wedding, going through every.single.photo again brought a lot of little memories back. Some I didn’t even remember right after the wedding. Once I had gone through and picked the ones that HAD to be in there, I had only eleminated about 3 photos. Sheesh. I had a lot to do!
Long story {shorter}, I am now just 3 pages from finishing my scrapbook of our wedding and I am so thankful I am going to have it! And it’s so fun to look through all the photos on a hard copy, instead of just on a computer. Luke and I have a grand time talking, and laughing!, about our wedding day.
- Scrapbook or Photo Album? This is a good question to ask yourself before getting started. What are your time limitations? It’s much quicker {and easier!} to just slap all the pictures into a photo album. But, your focus is totally on the photos, not any embellisments you add. The choice, my dears, is totally up to you.

Traditional color scheme, or wedding colors? I had this toss up for a while. Although our wedding wasn’t super traditional, I kind of wanted the traditional white/gray look of the album. So, I compromised. Some of the classic pictures have a classic design, and the pictures with our own personalities had it’s own design. Again, it’s solely up to you.

Make it right after the wedding or after a few months? Well, again, what works with your schedule? I see the pros and cons of both. You might forget something if you do it later, but it also may bring a clearer focus on what really was important at your wedding. Because seriously, your wedding was a day, your marriage lasts a life-time!

I love this idea!! My parents’ next door neighbor is also a scrappbooker, and for my shower, she gave me a huge scrapbook with tons of pages and pieces of paper already cut in our wedding colors to make a wedding book. I cannot wait to sit down and get it done!
I have been going back and forth with this myself. I have I have decided to do a photo album with our wedding photos, and a scrapbook of our honeymoon. I can’t wait to have all of the photos after the wedding to get started!

I want to make an album so bad! I have been collecting scrapbookingnsupploes since before I was married (well,since I got engaged) but I never have the time! I guess I’ll just have to buckle down and get to it!
We went to create our wedding album after, but at the last minute I decided I wanted to send our pictures off and have someone else do it, so it was better quality. This was two years ago and I have yet to actually do it yet! I have so many of our pictures around the house, but I would love to have them all in one place!
